SENZA DOCUMENTI – WITHOUT DOCUMENTS
The Cucciolo is a micromotor produced by Ducati from 1945 to 1958, initially produced under license from SIATA (Società Italiana Applicazioni Tecniche Auto-Aviatorie) of Turin. The project for a 4-stroke micromotor, robust and with limited consumption, to be applied to bicycles is by Aldo Farinelli and dates back to 1943, this allowed SIATA to resume production in the post-war period and the sales success pushed the company to look for a production partner, which it found in the Bologna-based Ducati. In short, the Cucciolo became the symbol of an era and the commercial successes were far beyond the rosiest expectations; the first two models, called Type 1 (T1) and Type 2 (T2) were simple micromotors applied to bicycle frames, in 1949 the T3 was presented with a beam frame produced by Industrie Aeronautiche Caproni.
