This all-new DB11 would retain all the exciting and fast bits from the DB9 but be completely modernized and optioned with an all-new powerplant. The British manufacturer wanted to keep things classic, but still give it a rather aggressive yet elegant look exhibiting the ‘James Bond’ characteristics. Aston’s goal was to keep the timeless but proportional styling. Under the leadership of former Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman, the design team reshaped the grille to be larger and more contemporary. They sculpted each body panel, even down to the side mirrors, to give the car a bolder presence all while improving airflow channeling and downforce on all sides of the car. The ‘virtual rear spoiler’, or otherwise known as the aeroblade, creates a little slit between the trunk lid. There are passageways under the trunk in the rear quarter window area that help proportion out the amount of air which flows over the top of the car. The DB9 was built on an aluminum chassis which was top standards for the early 00s but the DB11 needed a change so a slightly updated ‘DBS’ platform was introduced. Aston would transform the original aluminum material into a slightly bonded, lighter-weight, more rigid aluminum, all while reducing the overall weight to increase performance and handling. With the DB11, Aston engineered a more advanced suspension system pairing it with more precise steering and enhanced driving dynamics regardless of road conditions for a more engaging driving experience. The DB11 was introduced with a variety of advanced safety driver assistance features including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and automated emergency braking. The DB11 would feature a larger touchscreen display, more ergonomic controls, and higher-quality materials. To get in trend with technological times, the car was refreshed with a new infotainment system and various improved connectivity options. The DB11 won “Best Grand Tourer” award from Top Gear magazine in 2017, receiving widespread acclaim for its blend of luxury, performance, and design. It was praised for its refined driving experience, updated interior, and striking appearance. The DB11 played a crucial role in revolutionizing Aston Martin's brand and helped set the foundation for future models, showcasing the company’s commitment to meshing traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. This DB11 was originally bought in 2018 by its first owner in New York. It stayed in New York until 2020, when it was purchased by its second owner in Carmel, California. During their ownership, they expanded their Carmel garage to accommodate the car by keeping it in a temperature-controlled environment. Upon arrival at Canepa, every collector car for sale is put through an extensive and diligent process called the “Canepa Difference.” This includes a major and comprehensive mechanical inspection where all systems are checked and serviced as necessary. This DB11 also includes 4 new premium high performance radial tires. Vehicle Includes: Spare Key Fob Tire pressure gauge Books & Manuals Aux Floor Carpet Mats
