Centenary London to Brighton
The Centenary London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, held in 1996, marked the hundredth edition of this iconic annual ride. This event celebrates the Emancipation Run of 1896, which symbolized the abolition of the 'Red Flag Act.' That law severely restricted cars and imposed low speed limits. During the Centenary Run, hundreds of classic cars from before 1905 participated, making it one of the largest gatherings of such vehicles ever. The event is a tribute to the history of the automobile and emphasizes the importance of these early vehicles in the development of the modern automotive industry. It is all the more special that this Benz participated in this special event.
