1966 Ford Mustang Convertible
£37,159.36 | €44,660.02 | $46,500.00

Currently in its seventh generation, the Ford Mustang is the longest produced Ford car nameplate. It is also the 5th best selling car for Ford. Production started in 1964 and the popularity was immediately seen as it quickly became the most successful launch since the 1927 Model A. The projected sales were initially around 100,000 yearly but that was way off with over 400,000 units being sold in just the first year. After 2 years the 1 millionth was sold and if you fast forward to 2018 Ford had produced its 10 millionth Mustang. There is zero doubt that these cars have a huge following and being the namesake of the "pony car" showed all of the other car manufacturers where things were headed with the "muscle car" era. This 1966 Mustang convertible is a beautiful example of one of these cars and is in excellent condition. The current owner is a meticulous classic car owner and has a ton of receipts and records that come with the car. It has been fully restored and although it is not a true coded GT it has everything you would expect to see on a GT like the correct exhaust rear valance, GT stripes, GT gas cap, Fog lights, the wheels, etc. The only real difference from it and a GT is the lacking of an A or K in the VIN. The body on the car is all rust free and wears the correct Wimbledon White paint with the Red GT side stripe with "Mustang" lettering. The power convertible top is new and done in White. It has a Red parade boot and raises/lowers very smoothly. Small details like that are a testament to how well this car has been built. All of the chrome on it is cleanly mounted and both it along with the stainless are in great condition. The GT wheels on it are in great shape, have the Red center emblem and are wrapped with the correct Red Line tires.

The car originally came with a 289 V8 with 2 barrel but it now has a 4 barrel Holley carburetor. The car runs great and has plenty of power. It has a nice oval Cobra air cleaner and finned valve covers. The C4 automatic shifts smoothly and the car really does go down the road well. Disc brakes have been added to the front of the car and it has the correct disc brake master cylinder. The car sounds good and it has the correct dual exhaust with trumpet tips that exit through the valance. With power steering and air conditioning the car is a very comfortable car to cruise around in. During the build everything was gone through and it got a new gas tank, new A arms, amongst a lot of other things documented with receipts.

The interior of the car is the correct Red luxury pony upholstery that is in great condition. It is very clean throughout with very little, if any, signs of wear. It has a factory automatic center console with woodgrain trim and on top is a humphugger aftermarket console with armrest, storage, and cup holders. The dash is painted Red and the Red dash pad looks good. It has the wood grain accents also found around the factory gauges and on the glove box door. The correct 3 spoke wood grain steering wheel sits in front of the driver and it also has a Red painted to match rally pack. The tach plus all other gauges work except for the clock. The AM/FM/Cassette player is mounted to the center and also works properly. The underdash factory style AC unit fits right in place and blows cold. One very cool feature you don't see often is a custom made a lever on the interior floor that opens up the trunk so no more needing to pull the key to get access. In the trunk is a spare with cover and the correct mat.

If you are in the market for a nice classic Mustang convertible this is one to put on your short list. Everything operates extremely well. The car is very solid and with a brief inspection in person it is very apparent how well it was built.

This classic convertible could be in your garage for $46,500.00!
