In 1962, BMW introduced the “Neue Klasse”. This was the saviour of BMW, which prevented this brand from going bankrupt and formed the basis of the sporty and luxurious image that we know of BMW today. These models from the “Neue Klasse” were produced between 1962 and 1972. A total of four sedan models and a coupé model fall under this class, namely the 1500, 1800, 1600 and 2000 sedan models and the 2000C coupé.
The Italian designer Michelotti was responsible for the design of this “saviour of BMW”, which formed the blueprint for all BMWs that came onto the market in the decades that followed.
The BMW 2000 Sedan offered here is from 1971. The car is in excellent condition, both technically and optically.
The 2.0 litre engine is coupled to a manual gearbox.
The car drives very well, the BMW glides over the road and lets itself be guided wonderfully through the countryside where we took the test drive with this car.

Dit was de redding van BMW waardoor dit merk niet failliet is gegaan en vormde de basis van het sportieve en luxe imago wat we heden ten dagen van BMW kennen. Deze modellen uit de “Neue Klasse” werden geproduceerd tussen 1962 en 1972. In totaal vallen vier sedan modellen en een coupé model onder deze klasse, met name de 1500, 1800, 1600 en 2000 sedan modellen en de 2000C coupé.
De Italiaanse ontwerper Michelotti was verantwoordelijk voor het design van deze “redder van BMW”, welke de blauwdruk vormde voor alle BMW ’s die in de decennia daarna op de markt kwamen.

Ce fut le salut de BMW, qui empêcha cette marque de faire faillite et constitua la base de l'image sportive et luxueuse que l'on connaît aujourd'hui de BMW. Ces modèles de la « Neue Klasse » ont été produits entre 1962 et 1972. Au total, quatre modèles de berlines et un modèle de coupé entrent dans cette classe, à savoir les modèles de berlines 1500, 1800, 1600 et 2000 ainsi que le coupé 2000C.
Le designer italien Michelotti est responsable du design de ce « sauveur de BMW », qui constitue le modèle de toutes les BMW commercialisées au cours des décennies suivantes.
