BGC22B is an ex competition car that can be so again or be a perfect fast road/ track day or tour auto car. Read on…
Famous cars are recognised by registration number, or who drove it or who sponsored it during period competition.
This is the ex Tony Shaw Deltune Garage, Comet Petroleum period race car that still carries BGC22B.
In period it was a highly developed car that carried Tony Shaw to over 50 victories between 1966 and 1970. It passed through several racer owners before the most recent owner successfully sprinted and hill climbed the car until 1996.
Many years passed before the car was restored and recently finished. The restoration is fully documented restoration taking 5 years to its present fully restored FIA qualifying specification. However this car could race at Goodwood, Le Mans Classic, Silverstone Classic OR it could just as easily be a fast road or track day car. That is to say it is developed BUT highly useable, MOT’d and registered car.
What do I think of it? I think it’s one of the most stunning and thrilling cars I have ever driven. I can’t think of one I have enjoyed more
The car is to be sold in perfect ‘turn key’ condition with competition engine prepared by Guy Broad and ready for a new and very lucky owner to enjoy on track or as the fastest E Type on the road today.
The restoration is sensational and fully documented and the history file is equally fully documented with dozens of Autosport articles period photos.
Words cannot describe this car adequately. If you want an E Type to go as well as it looks and you are thinking of doing track days or want to race at Goodwood this is the car to do it in.
