This mighty AC Cobra recreation is hand built by the british Gardner Douglas. This company was founded in 1990 and is known for their high quality recreations.
The car that we can offer is a special one. To begin with, the date of first registration is 1969. The polyester body is beautifully shaped and features high-quality dark blue metallic paintwork. The brown leather contrasts nicely with this. But the real action goes on in the mechanics. The 6.3 liter Chevrolet engine build by E.D.A. is coupled to a heavy duty Tremec five-speed gearbox and is built with Edelbrock manifold, headers, Mallory ignition, Holley carburetor, aluminum valve covers and pulleys, Cola-pro series steel crankshaft, stroker steel rods, J.E. leightweight pistons, Brodix track alloy cylinder heads, Herbert roller camshaft & valve train etc. etc. This is clearly not a car for the faint hearted!
At a later stage, the car was overhauled at Gardner Douglas, whereby the chassis was reinforced and equipped with double wishbone suspension with aluminum race uprights. Furthermore, the brakes, gearbox, drive shafts, roll bar, cooling system, steering and much more were adjusted. This car really needs to be seen and heard. It is a real “eye-catcher” and a car for a true enthusiast.
